I am the Crafts Programmer at Kee-Mo-Kee this year. The beginning of teen week has been very eventful and the campers have had a lot of fun! Last night we played an All Camp Game with coloured water and we had a Campfire and Vespers with Pineapple. Everyone slept well last night after a first busy night at camp. I helped Cabin 5 at bedtime and we read the Lion King!
Today is a beautiful day outside, and a great day to start sessions with all of the programmers. In CV with Pineapple we learned about different types of dinosaurs and the tag line was “you’re different, and that’s ok.” In Nature with Mars we found dino eggs in the forest. With Tonto in Sports we played Ultimate Frisbee and the campers had a blast! In Crafts we are making fossils today, and tomorrow and Wednesday we are doing Tye Dye! The fossils have been trial and error today but the campers are enjoying making leaf or dinosaur prints in their fossils with plastic dinosaurs. I am really looking forward to Tye Dye, which will be happening outside on the basketball court. The campers also had a great time cooling off in the pool today with Shark and Simba!
Also on the schedule today is an All Camp Game that is similar to a race between all of the cabins! It’s always a hit and the Program staff is excited to lead it after dinner! We are also going to play a Night Game, which we are calling flashlight dinosaur tag, where we tag people with flashlights and roar like dinosaurs! We are also looking forward to Out-Trip tomorrow for the girls and Wednesday night for the boys. We get to play some awesome games, sleep in tents and eat s’mores!
We will continue posting throughout the week to keep everyone updated on the fun happenings at KMK!
Good wishes from the Craft Lodge,
