We’ve had a fantastic week at camp so far. Yesterday was Thrilling Thursday! In the morning we played an intense game of flags, with a bit of a twist because it was hot out. We used sponges instead of the normal flags. After we restored our energy with some candy in the afternoon, we did all camp swim and all camp creek. One half of the camp went to creek while the other half went to the pool. Then we switched, so everyone got the chance to do both. While we were at the creek we made a stop at the clay wall. The campers will able to put clay on their faces arms and legs, which was a new experience for many of them. After the campers had went to both pool and creek they began to get ready for banquet. This week’s theme is Anything Goes, so our Banquet theme was Kee-Mo-Kee through the Ages. For this theme we mixed together decorations from the previous weeks this summer, and summers past. We decided to have breakfast for dinner and then ice cream floats for dessert. After banquet, we had a talent show. There were many acts including skits, card tricks, singing and dancing. After the talent show had wrapped up we sang some brand new songs at campfire, and wrapped the day up at vespers. This morning we had Freaky Friday! The kids were able to participate in many activities including a slip and slide, water piñatas, archery, drawing on the basketball court with sidewalk chalk paint and the wall. The wall is about ten feet high and the campers are given the opportunity to be lifted over the wall. Today will wrap up at Retro Rewind, where we give out camper awards, and sing some songs including the counsellor song, which the campers always love.
